    At TLC, a Sales Associate (Patient Consultant) receives paid training and a chance to learn and work side by side with leading industry surgeons, doctors, and experienced clinical ophthalmic technicians.

    The Patient Consultant role is ideal for a customer-centric individual with work experience in sales, retail, or the medical/wellness industry  This role may also be a great fit for someone with experience in optometry or ophthalmology who has a passion to advance their clinical skills and grow with the company

    Responsibilities

    • Educate patients on our services, surgical procedures, and treatments. Create relationships with patients to develop trust and answer general questions.
    • Engage with patient. Take down patient medical history.
    • Offer pre and post-surgical education to patients.
    • Responsible for basic Ophthalmic testing; operating various ophthalmology diagnostic equipment.
    • Provide superior customer service and strive to offer an optimal patient experience.
    • Ensure patient confidentiality and proper adherence to company protocols and procedures of standard care.
    • Be comfortable discussing different pricing and financing options with patients to help optimize conversion rates from patient visit to booking a surgical procedure.
    • Review, update, and complete patient charts accurately. Update patient files and database system.
    • Other duties as assigned by Center Manager and/or Clinical Director.

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree or Degree in progress is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree is an asset.
    • Minimum 1-year experience working with people in an inside sales related function.
    • 3+ years’ experience in a customer service focused environment (face to face experience is essential).
    • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to develop relationships with patients to provide a positive experience.
    • Highly developed listening skills.
    • Exemplary organizational skills; willingness to be cross-trained and fill in for other staff members.
    • Results driven and takes initiative; goal focused with strong problem-solving abilities;
    • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and work with a high degree of professionalism in a fast-paced, team-oriented, dynamic, retail services environment.
    • Flexibility to adapt to and implement change.
    • Basic computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience collecting and processing payments from patients and reconciling cash reports daily.
    • In-stores sales, telecommunications, banking, or health-wellness sales related work is an asset.
    • Completion of any prior sales training courses is also an asset.
