District Sales Manager

 

Main Purpose

The District Sales Manager is a key member of the regional leadership team and provides tactical leadership, training and development to the PRCs and FSTs.  The District Sales Manager is responsible for growing market share, affiliate referrals, and revenue through our affiliate referral network and corporate partnership programs. The District Sales Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in the assigned region.  The District Sales Manager is also responsible for building relationships within our Optometric referral network and supporting local sales & marketing initiatives which increase procedures within assigned geographic regions.

 

 

Responsibilities

Partner with Regional Directors, Center/Business managers, Clinical Directors and Professional Relations Consultant to develop local sales strategies consistent with TLC Marketing initiatives that achieve and maintain profitable volume and affiliate growth.  

  • ·         Responsible to establish sales goals and quarterly action plans and reviews progress via monthly meeting.
  • Responsible to provides input specific to sales reports, metrics and measures related to the affiliate business.
  • Perform monthly or bi-monthly coaching visits in the field with each PRC and creates goals and action steps to ensure ongoing professional development.
  • Participates in monthly tactical meetings or conference calls with the RD and CM to review programs, quarterly plans and results to date.
  • Accountable for ongoing coaching and development for Professional Relations Consultants (PRCs) that reinforces the company’s service vision and focuses on growing affiliate referrals and meeting Key Performance Indicators.
  • Drives performance of PRC including implementation of performance improvement plan and termination. 
  • ·         Develop PRCs to show case TLC at trade shows and professional association events and to identify local opportunities.
  • Control regional expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Recruits, hires and trains PRCs based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.
  • Develop and oversee regional affiliate and corporate outreach strategy with the RD.
  • Drives and reports on the performance and effectiveness of sales programs and initiatives.
  • Develop long-term reporting and territory management strategy.
  • Responsible to drive the implementation and utilization of a customer relationship management solution. (CRM)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with top key doctors within the region and call on those doctors routinely. (min 2/xs year)
  • Responsible to grow the number of active referring affiliate doctors within each territory and to visit top tier affiliates.
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities.

 

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of sales principles and selling skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work well across functions. (RD, CD, CM/BM, SCM and surgeon)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in business to business, pharmaceutical or medical sales.  Eye care and/or LASIK sales preferred.
  • 2-3 years proven sales management experience at DM level
  • Ability to coach and mentor selling and territory management skills
  • Exceptional public speaking skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of business processes and basic corporate finance, management and accounting principles.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel up to 70+% of the time.
  • Candidate should be located in Boston south to the DC area and any points in between.
